Larsen is best known for pitching the only perfect-game no-hitter in baseball World Series history. It occurred in 1956. Larsen pitched in the major leagues from 1953-1967. He pitched for the St. Louis Browns/Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics, Chicago White Sox, San Francisco Giants, Houston Colt 45s/Astros, Orioles again and Chicago Cubs (3 games). In 412 games he won 81 and lost 91 with a 3.78 ERA and 23 saves. He was the MVP of the 1956 World Series, giving up no earned runs and just one hit in 10 2/3 innings over two games.
