Leo Ernest "Ernie" Whitt (b.1952) is a former left-handed hitting catcher, and 1985 All-Star, who played in the majors for 15 seasons with the Red Sox (1976), Blue Jays (1977-1978 & 1980-1989), Braves (1990), and Orioles (1991). He played in 1328 games, hiting .249, with 938 hits, 134 HRs, and 534 RBIs. During his All-Star season of 1985, Whitt hit .245, with a 64 RBIs, and career high 19 HRs. In 1989, he hit .269, with career high 19 HRs, and 75 RBIs, and played in the 1985 & 1989 ALCS, hitting .162 in 12 games, with a HR, and 5 RBIs.  Whitt is most remembered for making the final out in the Indians' pitcher Len Barker's perfect game on 5-15-81. After his playing days, he coached for the Blue Jays (2007-2009), and is a member of the Canadian Baseball HOF.
