    Description

    This rare Open Pallet French Flutina was made circa 1845 probably by Besson Paris. It is an early precursor of the diatonic button accordeon.
    The first recorded factory for this style accordion was Napoleon Fourneux in Paris.
    This flutina is made of rosewood inlaid with boxwood.  Inlay has beautiful design on each of the four sides. The well preserved bellows have an orange background with a green and black design. Keys are made of mother-of-pearl. It is approximately 14inch in length, 6 inches in height, and 5 inch width. This well preserved flutina has 12 outer keys and 12 inner keys. No mother of pearl keys are missing and notes are playable; however, due to the age of the instrument, it would be ideal mainly as a collector's item. One side decorative wood strip in missing; otherwise, the flutina is complete.
